The February Character Word of the Month is HONESTY. Honesty is
when you speak the truth and act truthfully. Many children think
honesty means not telling a lie. While that is true, it is only partially the
meaning of the word. Honesty means your actions are truthful too.
Being truthful means saying how something really happened based on
facts as opposed to making up details or leaving out details, especially
to cover up or hide something you know is wrong. Being honest is the
opposite of being deceitful or dishonest. We not only need to be honest
with others (remember the golden rule about treating others the way
you want to be treated?!) but we need to be honest with ourselves too.
