Our March character word is TOLERANCE. Tolerance means the willingness to accept behavior and beliefs that are different from your own, although you might not agree or approve of them. An example is “agree to disagree”. Tolerance refers to an attitude of openness and respect for the differences that exist among people,
learning from others and valuing those differences. Tolerance helps us bridge cultural gaps and reject unfair stereotypes, discover common ground and create new bonds. As we are a diverse society, practicing tolerance helps all people get along and live with each other in shared environments. Tolerance is also the ability to deal with something unpleasant or annoying. An example is finding a way to go about your day despite being in pain. Tolerance may refer to building up
immunity to something so that it no longer affects you.
